Our Curriculum

Cranberry Academy’s curriculum is designed to ensure that all pupils have access to all that the National Curriculum offers and more. It is planned carefully to ensure that all children are challenged, engaged and motivated to learn. We believe that education is preparation for life.

Our teachers and support staff are outstanding in terms of qualifications, experience and commitment. We have an Inclusion team who are fully trained to meet the safeguarding and emotional needs of the children and their families.

Our Intent

At Cranberry Academy, we would like our curriculum to be purposeful and memorable. We believe that our curriculum will create well-rounded, lifelong learners who are prepared for the challenges and adventures that await them through our values of respect, resilience, happiness, self-belief, curiosity and kindness. These values are at the heart of everything that we do. The school’s curriculum is focused on the development of children’s knowledge and skills across all primary subjects with the aim of ensuring that the children are ready for the next stage of their learning and will therefore impact positively on their cultural capital. The National Curriculum subjects have been organised into themes with consideration given to how learning within each subject is connected and sequenced (where curriculum content is not strengthened or supported by a thematic approach, it is taught in discrete lessons). We are proud that our curriculum is accessible to all children including meeting the needs of children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (see SEND Policy and Equality Statement)

Extra Curriculum Opportunities

Cranberry Academy is fully committed to providing quality extra curricular activities and opportunities. All children in FS2, Key Stage 1 and 2 (age 5-11) have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of clubs including football, computing, choir, art and crafts, Lego club and many others. Our extensive club list can be found on our website.
